Hmmm it’s a rough thing to rank just like the states. But I got to say that the United States with the most varied and perhaps habitable geography. But Canada is vastly beautiful as well even if largely empty.

there are a lot of countries with good geographies, but none approach the BEST geography like the US. even if we just counted the contiguous US, you'd see access to two major oceans, each with large protected natural harbors; several large mountain ranges; several massive cities; the largest system of navigable rivers in the world; and the largest continuous tract of arable land in the world, which is coincident with said system of navigable rivers. there's just nowhere that can match all that.

I believe the United States has the best overall geography… both in terms of variety and scale but also in terms of benefit to human settlement, economic development, raw materials and natural resources, geopolitical status and security, and many other factors.

I have always enjoyed your videos. I like Germany and New Zealand. LOTR put New Zealand on the map! I really like the folklore and rich history that Germany has too. The USA has a little but of everything though.

Hey Geoff congrats on the 500k subscribers!!! To me the Countries with the best geographies gotta be the US and Italy, but it’s very hard to define because you got countries like China or India, Brazil or Nigeria or caribbean countries like the Dominican Republic. The Earth is so diverse

Honestly, when you say best geography, I want to say Canada actually.

Yes my country of the USA has a wide variety of terrain and biomes in its geography but Canada has a few types in its geography that cannot be found America such as the 3,000,000+ lakes, vast Prairies, Newfoundland and Labrador’s park that includes exposed parts of earths mantle, Alberta’s Tar Sands, etc.

I'll comment even though the contest is over: the country I think that has the best geography is the United States. Many other countries have lots of great geography, too, but just as stated in the video Geoff made about The Best and Worst States for Geography, the United States has it all--basins and beaches; piedmonts and plateaus and plains; great rivers and great lakes; volcanoes and valleys, including the Great Valley and Death Valley; mountain ranges that are rocky as they come, and that cascade beautifully, and smoky, too! Can you tell I like geography--Ha!
